GetHelpdesk.AI vs Arini for Dental Practices

The Short Version

Both of us answer dental phone calls with AI and book into your practice management system. The difference a buyer can act on is what each company will tell you before you sit through a demo.

We publish a flat $399 per month, a $500 one-time setup fee, month-to-month terms, and a named list of all 16 practice management systems we write into, each with its own page saying which actions are supported, partial or out of scope for that system.

As read on 12 September 2026, Arini’s site publishes no pricing, no contract terms and no consolidated integration list. It publishes outcomes instead: 1,000,000 booked appointments and case studies citing $500,000 to $1.5 million in production.

That is not a small difference. It decides whether you can compare us on paper or have to book an hour to find out the price.

Every Arini claim below is sourced to Arini’s own pages, read on 12 September 2026, plus their Open Dental integration guide dated 29 January 2026. Vendor pages change. Check the current ones before you sign anything.

Where We Are Genuinely Different

One published price, and it does not move. $399 a month, flat, month to month. No per-minute billing, no after-hours surcharge, no hold-time charge, no annual commitment. You can put that in a budget before you talk to us, and it is the same number in month twelve.

Arini’s pricing is not published anywhere on its site as of 12 September 2026. You will find third-party blogs quoting figures between $249 and $600 a month. We are not going to repeat those as fact: they disagree with each other, and several of the sites carrying them sell competing products. Ask Arini directly and get the answer in writing.

Sixteen named systems, with the honest per-system detail. We write into Open Dental, Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Dentrix Enterprise, Eaglesoft, iDentalSoft, Curve Hero, PracticeWorks, Denticon, Cloud 9, Dolphin, OrthoTrac, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen Enterprise and ModMed. Every one has a page stating exactly which actions are supported, partial or out of scope, because support genuinely varies by system and configuration. We are an authorized Open Dental API partner and the exclusive AI partner for iDentalSoft.

Arini’s homepage says it “integrates with your existing systems” without naming any. Their own Open Dental guide, dated 29 January 2026, is specific and credible: Arini can “book appointments directly into your Open Dental calendar” over “a secure, HIPAA-compliant API connection,” with setup taking “4-8 hours total.” A separate Dentrix guide exists. What we could not find on 12 September 2026 was one page listing every system they support. If you are on Open Dental or Dentrix, that gap may not matter to you. If you are on anything else, you cannot check without asking.

No tier gating. There is one plan. The 25+ languages, the emergency triage, the call transcripts and summaries, the unlimited simultaneous callers: all of it is in the $399. Nothing you saw in the demo turns out to sit in a higher tier.

Sub-second answer, no IVR. We answer in under a second with no hold queue and no phone menu, and we handle unlimited simultaneous callers, so nobody queues when three people ring at once.

Compliance stated up front. HIPAA compliant, we act as a Business Associate and sign a BAA, PHI encrypted in transit and at rest, role-based access to transcripts. Arini’s homepage carries no compliance statement; the HIPAA language appears inside the Open Dental guide.

Where Arini May Be the Better Fit

We would rather you find this out here than after a contract.

Published volume at scale. Arini’s 1,000,000 booked appointments is a much larger public number than anything we publish, and their case studies describe practices handling 1,600 to 1,800 calls a month and groups of 100 or more locations. If you are a large DSO and want a vendor with a long public track record at that size, that record is real and ours is shorter.

Outbound reactivation as a headline motion. Arini publishes an average of “20+ new patients recovered per location/month” from reactivation. If recovering lapsed patients is the main reason you are buying rather than answering inbound calls, that is the capability they lead with, and you should make them prove the number against your own list.

Very high call volume. Our $399 covers roughly 500 to 600 calls a month. Practices well above that are quoted separately. If you are running 1,500 calls a month, both of us are a custom conversation, and their published experience at that volume is worth weighing.

How to Check Any of This Yourself

Do not take either of our marketing pages as the answer. Run the same tests against both.

  1. Book a real appointment during the trial, then look in your own practice management software. Not the vendor dashboard. Your software. This single test separates products that write from products that read and take a message.
  2. Call after hours with a genuine emergency, phrased the way a worried patient phrases it. Check that the escalation follows your protocol, in your words, and that you can change it without raising a support ticket.
  3. Ask an insurance question. A large share of dental calls are some version of “do you take my plan,” and getting it wrong costs you the patient.
  4. Interrupt it. Change your mind mid-sentence. A conversation recovers; a phone tree with a nice voice does not.
  5. Get the price in writing, including month twelve. Ask what changes with call volume, locations and provider count.

FAQs

Is Arini more expensive than $399? We do not know, and we are not going to guess. As of 12 September 2026 Arini publishes no pricing. Ask them and compare the written quote against our published page.

Does Arini integrate with my system? If you are on Open Dental or Dentrix, their own dated guides say yes. For anything else, ask them directly and ask which direction the integration runs, because reading a schedule is far easier than writing to it.

You say 16 systems. Does that mean full booking on all 16? No, and that is the point of the per-system pages. Supported actions vary by system and configuration, so each integration page states what is supported, partial or out of scope rather than implying one identical integration everywhere.

Why does a flat price matter if metered might be cheaper? It might well be cheaper in a quiet month. The trade is predictability: a flat fee costs the same in your busiest month, which is also the month you can least afford a surprise. Work out your own call minutes first. Our cost comparison shows the calculation.

Do you hold SOC 2? Not today. We are HIPAA compliant and sign a BAA, and PHI is encrypted in transit and at rest with role-based access. If a SOC 2 Type II report is a hard procurement requirement for your group, say so early and we will tell you plainly where we stand rather than waste your time.

How long does setup take? Typical go-live is 5 to 7 days from kickoff, and the $500 covers AI configuration, the PMS integration and founder-led onboarding. The connection is the fast part; your configuration decisions are what determine the result.

Where to Start

Pull four numbers before you talk to either of us: calls per month, average call length, how many land outside opening hours, and how many go unanswered. Without those, no quote in this category can be compared to any other.

Then hear ours answer a call, read our published pricing and check your system on our integrations list. If you want the full evaluation framework, the buyer’s guide has the test calls and the contract terms worth demanding in writing from anyone, including us.
