# GetHelpdesk.AI vs Dentina: Inbound and Recall

> Their entry price is lower and they offer a free trial. Ours is month to month, covers any number of providers, and puts every language in one plan. The right answer depends on your provider count.

## The Short Version

Dentina publishes its prices, which makes this a fair comparison on paper. It also prices differently enough that the headline numbers mislead if you read them straight.

We charge a flat $399 a month, month to month, with a one-time $500 setup fee, covering your whole practice regardless of how many providers you run.

As published on 12 September 2026, Dentina lists Standard Inbound from $299 a month and Premium Inbound from $399 a month, **both billed annually, priced per location, and covering up to 3 providers**. Outbound campaigns, which is where recall lives, are custom priced and not published at all.

So the comparison is not $299 against $399. It is a discounted annual commitment covering three providers against a month-to-month fee covering all of them, with recall published on our side and quoted on theirs.

## Where We Are Genuinely Different

**No provider cap.** Our $399 covers your practice. Dentina's published tiers cover up to 3 providers, so a four-provider practice is already off the published price list and into a quote. This is the single most common way a headline number stops applying, and it is worth checking against your own roster before you compare anything else.

**Month to month.** You can leave. Dentina's published prices are billed annually with a stated 20% annual discount, which is a real saving and also a year of commitment to a product you have run for thirty days. We would rather earn month twelve than lock it.

**Every language in the one plan.** We handle 25+ languages with automatic detection, in the $399. Dentina tiers this: Standard covers English and Spanish, and "up to 57 languages" requires Premium. If a meaningful share of your callers speak something other than English or Spanish, their entry tier does not cover you and the comparison moves to $399 against $399, annual against monthly.

**Recall is not a separate negotiation.** Reminders, confirmations and recall outreach are part of what we do at the published price. Dentina's outbound campaigns are custom priced, so if recall is the reason you are buying, the number you actually pay is not on their site and you cannot compare it until you have asked.

**Sixteen named systems against eleven.** We write into Open Dental, Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Dentrix Enterprise, Eaglesoft, iDentalSoft, Curve Hero, PracticeWorks, Denticon, Cloud 9, Dolphin, OrthoTrac, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen Enterprise and ModMed, each with a page stating which actions are supported, partial or out of scope. We are an authorized Open Dental API partner and the exclusive AI partner for iDentalSoft. Dentina names eleven, and the overlap is large, so for most practices both of us reach your system and the question becomes terms rather than coverage.

## Where Dentina May Be the Better Fit

**A 30-day free trial with no setup fee.** That is a genuinely lower-risk way to start than our $500 setup fee, and if you want to try before you commit any money, they let you and we do not. Our setup fee buys AI configuration, the PMS integration and founder-led onboarding, but it is still $500 before you have heard it answer a call.

**A lower entry price for a small practice.** A solo or two-provider practice on one location, happy with an annual commitment and needing only English and Spanish, lands inside their $299 tier. That is less than we charge, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

**Published scale.** 2,800,000+ calls handled and 2,000+ dentists and DSOs is a larger public track record than we publish.

**Built by a dentist.** Dentina names Peter Gabbay, DDS as its founder. That is a credible signal about whose problems the roadmap serves, though it is not a substitute for testing the product on your own calls.

## If Recall Is the Reason You Are Buying

Most of a standard evaluation is beside the point, and these four questions decide it.

**Who builds the list, and can you see it?** Recall is only as good as the query that pulls patients due for hygiene out of your system. Ask to see and edit the list before anything dials.

**Can it actually book on an outbound call?** Completing a booking outbound is meaningfully harder than delivering a reminder. Test it against a real list, not a demo.

**How does it stop?** Ask how a patient opts out, how fast it is honoured, and whether an opt-out on text also stops calls. Then watch it work during a trial.

**How does it avoid double-contacting?** If your practice management system already sends reminders and the AI sends reminders, patients get two.

### One rule flag, not advice

Automated calls and texts to patients are governed by federal telemarketing and automated-contact rules that are separate from HIPAA, and consent for treatment-related contact is not the same as consent for marketing contact. We are flagging this, not advising on it. Have your own counsel confirm what consent you hold and what your opt-out handling needs to look like before you switch on any campaign, and ask both vendors what consent record they expect you to maintain.

## How to Check Any of This Yourself

1. **Count your providers and locations first.** This decides whether Dentina's published price applies to you at all.
2. **Book an appointment in a trial, then look in your own practice management software.** Not the dashboard.
3. **Ask for the recall quote in writing** before comparing anything, since it is not published.
4. **Call after hours with a real-sounding emergency** and check the escalation is your protocol, in your words.
5. **Compare annual total against annual total,** not month against month.

## FAQs

**Is $299 cheaper than $399?**
For a one-location practice with three or fewer providers that only needs English and Spanish and will commit to a year, yes. Change any one of those four conditions and the comparison moves. Check your own roster before concluding anything.

**Your $399 and their Premium $399 look identical. Are they?**
No. Theirs is billed annually and covers up to 3 providers; ours is month to month with no provider cap. Same number, different commitment and different scope.

**Do you offer a free trial?**
No. We do founder-led onboarding inside the $500 setup fee and month-to-month terms afterwards, so the way out is cancelling rather than not starting. If a no-money trial matters more to you than monthly flexibility, that is a fair reason to choose differently.

**Does either of you support my system?**
Both name Open Dental, Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Dentrix Enterprise, Eaglesoft, Denticon, Cloud 9, Dolphin and OrthoTrac. Check ours on the [integrations pages](https://gethelpdesk.ai/integrations/), which say per system what is supported, partial or out of scope, and ask them which direction their integration runs for yours.

**Is annual billing a bad thing?**
Not inherently. It is cheaper, and Dentina states a 20% discount for it. It is a worse fit when you are unsure, because the cost of being wrong is eleven more months.

**What about treatment follow-up?**
Dentina marks treatment follow-up as "Q2 2026" on its site, which is a straight answer about something that does not ship yet. Take the dated roadmap item at face value and do not buy on it.

## Where to Start

Write down your provider count, your location count, your monthly call volume and whether recall or inbound is the actual reason you are buying. Those four decide this comparison, and no vendor page can decide it for you.

Then read our [published pricing](https://gethelpdesk.ai/pricing/), check your system on our [integrations list](https://gethelpdesk.ai/integrations/), and [hear the AI answer a call](https://gethelpdesk.ai/). The [buyer's guide](https://gethelpdesk.ai/blog/ai-receptionist-buyers-guide-dentists/) has the tests and contract terms worth demanding from anyone, us included.
